Information on enrollment for freshmen
This is information on enrollment at the Catholic University of Pusan

Eligibility requirements

A person who has completed (or expects to complete) primary and secondary schools (12 years or longer) or equivalent education according to relevant regulations, and falls under the following:

Required documents by type

A foreigner whose parents are not citizens of Korea:
  • CUP-designated application form (to be submitted upon notification from CUP)
  • Certificate of high school (expected) graduation
  • Transcripts of elementary, middle, and high schools
  • Immigration confirmation (student and his/her parents)
  • Documents proving your family relationships (for all family members)
  • Documents proving foreign nationality (e.g. a copy of citizenship certificate or passport; applicable to parents and student)
  • A copy of certificate of sojourn (student)
A person who has completed all required education courses
  • CUP-designated application form (to be submitted upon notification from CUP)
  • Certificate of high school (expected) graduation
  • Transcripts of elementary, middle, and high schools
  • Immigration confirmation (student)
  • Documents proving your family relationships (for all family members)
  • Documents proving foreign nationality (e.g. a copy of citizenship certificate or passport; applicable to student)
  • Alien registration card (student)

How to apply

Essay and interview (on a 1000-point scale)

Read a given text and write your own views on the matter described in the text with no more than 2,000 Korean characters or 1,000 English words
Interview question 1
(180 points)
Speak about yourself and your reason for application in Korean or English for three minutes
Interview question 2
(120 points)
Speak about your future self ten years after graduation in Korean or English for two minutes
Interview question 3
(300 points)
Read a given text and speak your own views on the issue in Korean or English for five minutes
Essay and interview procedures
  • In an essay test you write an essay for 50 minutes without any reference materials, and in an interview test you learn interview questions for at least five minutes before taking the test.
  • You will be accepted if you get 800 points or above out of 1,000 points on the essay and interview tests.
Special admission requiring no test (No essay/interview)
  • If a student from a school with an MOU with CUP obtains a recommendation from the president of his/her university he/she may be accepted without any tests (essay and interview). However, the student is required to submit an application form for foreign national admission, activity description statement for foreign national admission in attached forms no. 3 and no. 4.
